Flock Safety Enhances Services by Acquiring Aerodome

New Drone Tech Boosts Police Work

Flock Safety has bought Aerodome, a firm known for its drone technology used in emergencies, marking a big leap in helping cops fight crime.

Using Drones for Quick Action

Drones can fly to emergencies quickly and send back videos before officers arrive. This means police can see what’s happening faster, making it safer for them. Real-time info from drones helps officers decide what to do sooner.

Garrett Langley from Flock Safety said, “Anyone who’s seen a drone-as-first-responder program in action knows that this technology will play a central role in the future of public safety. No other technology helps law enforcement officers get eyes on the scene faster than a drone.”

Adding Aerodome’s tech gives Flock Safety more ways to help keep people safe, like license plate readers and gunshot sensors. Langley noted, “By combining Aerodome’s best-in-class DFR technology with Flock Safety’s existing suite of rapid response solutions, we’re taking a big step forward in our mission to protect communities and eliminate crime.”

We think using drones in this way could make our neighborhoods feel a bit more secure.

Homegrown Drones for Police Use

Flock Safety plans to launch American-made drones next year. These drones will meet federal rules, allowing police departments to use federal money to buy them. Rahul Sidhu from Aerodome, now joining Flock Safety, expressed his excitement: “My team and I are thrilled to join forces with Flock to take emergency drone response to the next level. By tightly integrating DFR 2.0 technology into the Flock Safety rapid response product suite, we can accelerate adoption of DFR across public safety to save lives and make communities safer.”

Improving Drone Abilities

Aerodome’s drones come with cool features like automatic battery swaps and software to avoid hitting other aircraft. This means drones can work safely even when they’re far from their operators. It helps police respond to events without needing more help and keeps costs low.

Police Chief Jeff Walther from Scottsdale shared how Aerodome’s drones have already made their emergency responses quicker and more accurate, transforming how they handle crime situations.

See the New Gear in Action

You can check out Flock Safety’s improved tools at a police chiefs’ meeting in Boston from October 19-22. If you can’t be there, a webinar on November 13 will show how these drones could change policing.
