DRL Pilots Compete in U.S. Air Force Invitational

High-Speed Drone Racing Heads to Miami

Twelve top-notch pilots from various countries are set to race drones at lightning speeds in Miami on February 1, 2025.

The Drone Racing League (DRL) is gearing up for its 2025 U.S. Air Force Miami Invitational, featuring a dozen elite pilots. This thrilling event will unfold at loanDepot Park, where drones will zip through a glowing, futuristic track at speeds reaching 90 mph. It’s an exciting spectacle scheduled for Saturday evening, promising loads of fun for everyone. If you want to join the action, tickets are available at drl.io/tickets.

A Special Place in DRL’s Heart

Miami isn’t new to DRL; it hosted the league’s inaugural race back in 2016. Evan “Headsup” Turner, a two-time champion, can’t wait to fly in Miami again.

“I’m so excited to return to Miami for the DRL U.S. Air Force Miami Invitational and am super honored to be named the U.S. Air Force Team Pilot this year,” said Turner. “This is a world-class event for our sport and nothing beats seeing all the amazing fans and families come out to support our pilots, partners, and the league. This is going to be incredible! Let’s fly, Miami!”

The 2025 competition, backed by the U.S. Air Force, will turn the stadium into a dynamic 3D course with lights and music, challenging pilots to show off their speed and skills.

Sometimes, people wonder how fast drones can really go!
