Flock Safety’s New Drone Emergency System Update
A big change is happening at Flock Safety with their Drone as First Responder system.
Now, drones can be sent to emergencies right away because the company has connected its Flock Aerodome with Flock911, which gives live 911 call information. This means that when a 911 call comes in, drones are sent out immediately, even before the call ends. Law enforcement can get a jump start, launching drones as soon as a 911 call is made, without waiting for data entry by dispatchers.
The company shared that the usual process of entering 911 calls into a system takes time, causing delays when every second is crucial. With this new setup, real-time transcriptions of emergency calls are sent directly to responders, and drones get to the scene in an average of just 86 seconds.
Isn’t it fascinating how tech can make such a big difference?
Rahul Sidhu, who knows firsthand the importance of quick responses, mentioned how this integration lets agencies act on live 911 calls even before official dispatch.
“As a former first responder myself, I know from experience that every single second counts in an emergency. Agencies that use Flock Aerodome will now be able to respond to live 911 calls prior to even being dispatched to them, thanks to this first-ever direct integration of DFR and a 911 call response system.”
Positive Impact on Community Safety
The Dunwoody Police Department is already seeing great results with this technology.
“The integration of our Real-Time Crime Center, DFR, and Flock911 capabilities has transformed how we protect and serve our community,” said Dunwoody Police Chief Mike Carlson. “These cutting-edge tools allow our officers to respond faster, make more informed decisions, and enhance public safety like never before. With real-time intelligence and aerial support, we can proactively address threats, improve situational awareness, and ensure a safer environment for everyone. This technology isn’t just about solving crime—it’s about preventing it and keeping our community secure.”
Across the nation, over 4,800 law enforcement agencies in more than 5,000 communities use Flock Safety’s systems.
New Facility in Georgia
In another announcement, Flock Safety shared plans for a huge new facility in Smyrna, Georgia.
- The site will cover 97,000 square feet.
- It will produce safety technologies and handle repairs.
- Solar panel assembly will also take place here.
This $10 million project is expected to create 210 jobs in the coming years, with full operations set to start by 2027. Georgia’s Governor Brian Kemp expressed his support:
“In Georgia, we foster a business environment where innovative companies can get off the ground and grow into leaders in their industry while operating in safe communities. Flock Safety is a great example of the success that approach has created, and we’re proud to celebrate this milestone with them.
